Speaking of travel, my stepmom sent me this video of Matt Harding dancing his way around the world and I love it! Now this is a guy who knows how to get around—he’s been to over 80 countries.

I remember seeing Matt globetrotting through dozens of countries dancing his goofy dance back in about 2006, but this time, he’s joined by locals who are sharing this fun experience. It reveals a connectedness through dance and childlike innocence, and makes it hard not to get a huge grin on your face.

From a July 8 New York Times article about Matt and the journey around the world to film this viral video:

The idea first came to him in 2006, he recalled, when he was dancing with some street kids in Rwanda. “If I had tried dancing with kids in a mall in San Francisco, say, I probably would have got arrested,” he said. “But in Africa there aren’t any barriers, and there’s immediate access to this kind of joy and irreverence.”

It’s a pretty unique idea and a good way to interact with the people you meet during your travels! Wish I’d thought of it. Follow Matt at wherethehellismatt.com.
