Project Description

I write at ThrillingHeroics.com about personal growth, entrepreneurship & travel. Over the last 2 years I’ve had the fortunate ability to live in Asia & experience 7 different countries, speaking at conferences & meeting motivated, interesting people from around the world.

Now I hope to do a whirlwind tour & MEET many of the folks I’ve become acquainted with *online* in person too! The goal: to get the right experience, knowledge, connect with the right people & be able to top it off with a personal growth World Summit in southern California in April 2011!

At a crossroads in my business/career, my *impossible* dream is to host an entrepreneurship/personal development/lifestyle design unconference & retreat with inspiring, like-minded people who want to create radical change in their lives & build meaningful businesses.

On the way, I hope to travel to Costa Rica to learn from Vishen, who is hosting AwesomenessFest.com retreat in early Dec., visit new friends in Central & South America, & if possible attend SXSW Interactive in March to meet key individuals there. In mid-April, rent a beautiful Palm Springs home for a week, host a group of 15-20 (or more) for 3-4 days for a series of talks, workshops, networking & collaborate on building a socially-conscious business, followed by a fun weekend at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

Hope to get corporate sponsors for the event & have a % of proceeds after the retreat will go to GirlEffect.org

Project Rewards

My total estimated costs for my own travel, event tickets & the cost of hosting OUR own retreat is approx. $15,000, but I hope to just kickstart it by raising ~$5,500. Depending on the level of contribution:

Discounted rates to attend our 1-week all-inclusive retreat in Indio or Palm Springs, CA in April.

For large donors or corporate sponsors, I’m open to giving them prominent long-term ad spots on my site(s), on video series, and at the event in April.

I will also be arranging dozens of smaller events—mixers & meetups with participants & donors (like my Tweetups found here: http://www.bangkoktweetup.com ) as I travel from Southeast Asia -> Central -> South America -> TX -> CA
