Nobody ever said the unconventional life was going to be an easy one—running a business from abroad, seeking new clients (and paying rent) in a recession, and trying to get top-of-the-line infrastructure set up in a developing country are difficult tasks that have me feeling like I’m fighting an uphill battle. Most likely, you other entrepreneurs and nomadic souls understand the struggles involved with living life on your own terms too.
Because I’ve been focused on getting my business on track, I’ve been a poor steward and haven’t added any value for you here in a while. I needed some motivation, so I’ve collected some of my favorite quotes here to check back and get my ass in gear when rough times have me frustrated or down. Hopefully you’ll find these inspiring and useful as well:

Nice collection! I especially like the last one from Ayn Rand (easily one of my top 5 favorite authors). Her characters are always so audacious and definitely follow the ‘it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission’ mode of living.
Come to think of it, her characters didn’t even really ask for forgiveness. Huh.

I’ve been in straight commission sales for the past 6 summers to fund my worldly adventures and have come across a fair amount of quotes that help me see why it’s all worth it.
We are all entrepreneurs and doing “sales” in one way or another and I highly recommend Og Mandinos “The Greatest Salesman in the World” as it has fitting scrolls that really get you motivated during the bumps along the way.

Thanks for the quotes! I was so inspired by the Dale Carnegie one that I had to write on how it applies to life and business. Too many people allow fear of the unknown to stop them from pursuing their dreams.
Twain was full of good quotes. Personally I like “imagination is more important than knowledge” (Einstein) and “today is a good day to die” (Shakespeare but the Klingons made it famous
I like the latter quote because it’s a reminder that we could all die today – if we knew we were going to today, or in a week, month – what would we really be doing right now?
