That's pretty much exactly the same advice I had for Stephanie (about Amber Zuckswert) a while back—I frequently respond to people directly via email but don't always post in the comments! Oops :) Thanks for chiming in and offering even further help though Raam, and thanks for your kind words on this post.

Fantastic advice, Cody! I can totally relate to growing and adapting when pushing limits. I recently left Boston to follow my lifelong dream of becoming a nomad and now I'm living in India out of a single backpack.

If we realize that life doesn't have a map, it doesn't have a one-size-fits-all plan that everyone can use, then we can get on to discovering new things about ourselves and growing. The sooner we allow ourselves to do this, the happier and more capable of helping others we will become (because we're suddenly less focused on fixing "our" unhappiness).

I really admire everything you've done here on ThrillingHeroics.com and in Thailand. Thank you and keep up all the awesome work! I look forward to meeting someday soon!

Hi Stephanie,

You might want to get in touch with Amber from EpicSelf.com. She's a dance and pilates instructor who recently did a lot of traveling and I believe is now working for herself.

Also, Chris Guillebeau from The Art of Non-Conformity (http://chrisguillebeau.com/3x5/) has some awesome guides on making a living with art.

Good luck on your journey, and remember, there's always a right path in life. It may not be easy or obvious, but it's there! I wish you all the best!

i'm SO glad to find a site this empowering. You're so grounded that I feel like I can actually take your advice and stories seriously, which is great. I'm so glad to find your site because the normal, template lifestyle has consistenly been one of my biggest fears and i've had no idea how to avoid it... finding your site and a few others has been an answer to some pretty intense prayers, so thanks a million.

I love the idea of being free to go whereever and break from from the "boxed up life" (what I usually call it) but the internet thing really isn't for me.. Does anyone have ideas on how art, music, dance, life coaching, spirituality, significantly helping people, and love of nature might all mesh into somehting to help me have the same kind of freedom? My research so far has been kind of fruitless.. any insight would be great. anyone meet people with these kind of interests who still travel and stay debt free?

Happy living everyone!!! Best wishes

Cody, I'm really glad I found your blog man. This was something I really needed today. Where I live it seems like no one understands the lifestyle design I want. Online business, traveling, writing, and just getting lost in the labyrinth of a fulfilled life. Keep kicking ass bro!

You couldn't be more right - everyone always says you can't do something that you want to do, like travel the world, but it's totally wrong. I swear one day I am going to find this "everyone" and kick his ass.
A great post, it really struck a cord, thanks.

This post really spoke to me as it's something I've always believed in and am actually trying to live by it now. It seems you are well on your way to self-actualization and I hope that some of your good influence will rub off on me the way it did on Dwight!

Top notch post Cody, don't know how I missed it until today. Being willing to call absolutely everything into question and let go of what doesn't fulfill us, feels unnatural only because of the camaraderie amongst the fearful masses. Brought to mind my one of my favorite Machiavelli quotes..

"All courses of action are risky, so prudence is not in avoiding danger, but calculating risk and acting decisively. Make mistakes of ambition and not mistakes of sloth. Develop the strength to do bold things, not the strength to suffer."

Again, excellent post.
