If you’re one of the many people that has asked me about my custom design here at Thrilling Heroics (or secretly drools over it), then you’ll be happy to hear I’m releasing it today as a free WordPress theme!
Releasing a free WP template is something I’ve been talking about for six months, and I’m excited to finally set my Thrilling Heroics design loose as a free, open-source theme to help you build your own awesome blog! This is my personal SEO- and social media-optimized design (that you see in action right here on this page) which I’ve experimented with, tweaked, and perfected for a year and a half!
You can also see custom installations I’ve built at Business Backpacker and In Search of Sanuk. And of course, check out the live demo site here.
I’m proud to make this available publicly as free software licensed under the GNU GPL 3.0 license. That means it’s free to download, free to use it anyway you like for your commercial or personal blog, modify, alter, improve upon and share.

ThrillingTheme is largely based on FreshNews 1.0 from WooThemes and WP Framework, to which I added my own design elements, incorporated support for several prominent plugins, and added tremendous amounts of custom code to help you customize your blog and easily integrate it with your social media presence. I spoke to Adii from WooThemes yesterday to get his blessing (I have built designs on top of their awesome premium themes for many of my sites and highly recommend the whole WooThemes portfolio), and I owe thanks to Magnus Jepson, Jai Nischal Verma, and Vladimir Prevolac for a lot of design and code inspiration.
Fully-Customizable
The powerful admin options page allows you to make changes without editing code: you can upload your own custom logo image; automatically resize, crop & frame your own photo snapshot in the header, use mine, or leave it blank; change color schemes; easily integrate your Twitter, Flickr & Facebook profiles; add your Google Analytics tracking code, and manage your ad slots. Everything is plug-and-play!
Social Media Integration
I know how valuable a fully-integrated web presence can be when you’re building your personal brand and connecting with new people online. ThrillingTheme makes it easy to integrate your latest Twitter updates, recent Flickr photos, and even insert a link to your Facebook group or fan page with beautiful, pre-designed widgets.
Increasing Your Readership
I’ve also optimized ThrillingTheme (painstakingly over 3 years of experimentation) to keep visitors on your website longer and increase your subscribers. You’ll notice an attractive RSS & email subscription box in the sidebar, and a tabbed content box (set your own featured category, automatic popular posts, recent comments & tags). Single post pages are specially-designed to encourage visitors to share on social bookmarking sites with quick submission buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon & more, and I’ve built in support for the WordPress Related Posts plugin to encourage readers to dig deeper into your site.
Other theme features:
- 4 Color Schemes – Shades of Grey, Thrilling Orange, Black & White, Icy Blue
- Search Engine Optimized
- Auto-sized featured images & thumbnails
- Integration with FeedBurner email subscriptions
- 125×125 and 300×250 ad management
- Blog category dropdowns
- 3 widget-ready sidebar areas
- Built-in support for WordPress Related Posts
- WP 2.7+ nested comments support (new in ver 1.1)
- Gravatar support in comments
- Compressed CSS & minified JavaScript for faster load time
- Cross-browser compatible with all major browsers
- Tested with WordPress 2.5 and up
- Custom page templates for archives, sitemap & photo galleries
- Easy customization with the integrated theme options page
- Totally FREE for commercial & individual use

Anyone who is having problems with this theme:
1. Please make sure to download the MOST RECENT version above.
2. Read through the “Help & Support” section on the theme page here: http://www.thrillingheroics.com/thrillingtheme
3. If that doesn’t answer your questions, read through the comments here to see if your problem has been solved before posting a new one (most of them have).

Hey Cody,
Thanks for sharing! Only trouble I’m having is trying to get category links on the header, below the main text. For instance, where you have the “Why listen to me?” link.
Am I total newbie, or where can I change those?

IMPORTANT UPDATE
If you have already uploaded ThrillingTheme on your server and are having trouble with FeedBurner email subscriptions, I’ve released a 1.0.1 fix (thanks to Carl Nelson’s tip). I guess Google has updated the way they handle email subscriptions since they acquired FeedBurner.
You can either re-download the updated 1.0.1 theme above and overwrite the folder on your server, or download this file http://www.thrillingheroics.com/download/feedburnerfix and just drop header.php, functions.php & sidebar.php in your /ThrillingTheme/ directory (click yes, overwrite files).
This should make your FeedBurner email subscriptions work. If you want to activate email subbies, then paste your FeedBurner URI into the right box on your theme settings page. If you leave it blank the email form won’t appear in your sidebar.
For example, my FeedBurner RSS URL is: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/ThrillingHeroics
My FeedBurner URI for email subscriptions is just: ThrillingHeroics

@Louis: Yes you’ll need your own self-hosted WordPress.org software to use this theme. If you need to set up a new site, I totally recommend BlueHost for their low price and spectacular support.
@Jonny: Hah, thanks buddy! Web design services can always be paid for in cash OR in pints. BTW, your own new site design is looking great!
@Caleb & Important Message for All: No category links will appear in your header navigation until you’ve added categories and used them on at least one blog post. So, in other words, if all your blog posts are Uncategorized, the header won’t show any category links yet. Alternately, you can edit header.php with a text editor and hard code your own specific links like I have here on ThrillingHeroics.com

Hi Cody,
Many thanks for the free theme, it’s great! I’m currently rebuilding one of my sites around it and am very impressed with its flexibility.
One question: how do I go about getting different images above the title of each individual blog post (i.e. on the demo version how did you get the picture of the girl and the bike, the sunset, the boy and the dog, etc. above the title of each post)?
I think a lot of people like this visual aspect of your site, but it’s not entirely clear how to go about doing it – maybe there’s a plugin involved?
Thanks again for all your work on this,
Thom

Make sure you check out the static page with all the details & instructions here: http://www.thrillingheroics.com/thrillingtheme
Look for the big subtitle “Add Featured Photos to your Blog Posts” for more, but by default there is a new module added to your New Post panel called “Featured Image URL”, so just upload any photo to your Media Library, copy the Image URL and close the box (no need to hit “insert in post”) and paste the URL in that box. Thrilling theme does the rest—automatically resizing and cropping your featured images to the preformatted size!
Thanks guys!

Wow, great work! That’s for such an awesome, and free, WordPress theme!
I ran into a problem with the Twitter status functionality: My server has disabled PHP URL file access (which prevents both allow_url_fopen & file_get_contents from using a URL), so the Twitter widget was just showing this:
—————————————————-
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/username/public_html/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme1.0.1/sidebar.php on line 109
Warning: file_get_contents(http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=from:username&rpp=3) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/username/public_html/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme1.0.1/sidebar.php on line 114
—————————————————-
Most PHP installations are configured with cURL enabled, so I rewrote the Twitter section of sidebar.php to use cURL instead. Here are the steps I followed to fix this:

Hi Cody, just thought I’d highlight a few more issues that I’ve run up against so far:
1. I can’t find a way to change the regular link color. If you visit http://www.thegoodwall.com, a site I’m launching right now, you’ll see that I’ve managed to get the header navbar links to be the same color as the blog title, which is what I want, but can’t change the hover color on the lower navbar or post titles to match the red seen in the header, nor can I can change the color of a normal link. It might just be me being a *complete* moron, but I’ve had no luck in the .css files…
2. How does one go about setting up the Archives? Is it simply a case of creating a page titled ‘Archives’, because I’ve had no luck with that so far…
3. As selecting a category for a post causes it to come up in the lower navbar beneath the header, how does this affect categorisation elsewhere? You have a number of categories for your posts (Jedi Mind Tricks, Trip Reports, etc.) that don’t appear in the lower navbar – how did you go about this?
Again, apologies if I’m being a dumbass on this stuff! Still loving the theme and really impressed with your work on it.
Thanks,
Thom

I don’t see anything on the ‘Thrilling Theme Options” where I can configure the ‘
thrill_video_category‘ and the ‘thrill_asides_category‘. The reason I’m trying to configure them is because the following line in archives.php doesn’t work properly:<?php if ( is_category($vidcat) ) { the_content(); } else { echo strip_tags(get_the_excerpt(), ''); } ?>For some reason, when browsing the posts by category, it thinks EVERY page is the
$vidcatcategory, so it displays the full posts (the_content()) instead of the excerpts (the_excerpt()).Any pointers on that would be greatly appreciated.

Something others might run into with the per post image generation and the polaroid pic at the top is that PHP_GD needs to be installed, good directions for that here:

Hi and thank you for sharing the theme.
In our web we’ve been using thumbnail’ themes for a while, so we have a custom field (named “articleimg”) dedicated for the images.
Untill now, when we changed a theme we just edited the new theme’s custom field’s name into the previous one. But this theme has its own thumbnail generator, separated from the normal custom fields.
What should we edit to use a “normal” custom field, yet it still resized new uploaded images? Is it possible anyway? We have about 500 posts with their thumbnails and now it’s quiet a job to add them, but if it’s mandatory we will
Thank you,
Pol

@Pol:
If you already have an existing custom field for featured images on your blog, you can change ThrillingTheme to use your existing custom key:
Open:
archive.php
author.php
page.php
imagegallery.php
index.php
single.php
tag.php
Do a search for:
get_post_meta($post->ID,'image'And replace with:
get_post_meta($post->ID,'yourcustomfieldname'Same for:
get_post_meta($post->ID, "image"get_post_meta($post->ID, "yourcustomfieldname"If you want the custom Featured Image URL panel on your “Add New Post” pages to work properly, you’ll also need to open:
ThrillingTheme/functions/custom.php
Search for:
"name" => "image",And replace with:
"name" => "yourcustomfieldname",[ Reply ]

Can anyone help, please ?
here is the code of the template imagegalery :
ID,’image’, true) ) { ?>
<a title="Click here to read the story" href="”><img alt="” src=”/thumb.php?src=ID, “image”, $single = true); ?>&h=180&w=255&zc=1&q=95″ style=”margin:5px;”/>

@Ken: You should be able to limit the Image Gallery page to only specific categories by opening imagegallery.php and modifying the query_posts call.
Search for:
< ?php query_posts('showposts=16'); ?>And replace with something like:
< ?php query_posts('cat=17&showposts=16'); ?>More about the query_posts template tag here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/query_posts

I have no problem to put featured image or polaroid image. It just look awesome in my blog. Your image may not show up because it might too big in size. Guys, sorry for the slow update. I am working on yet another iteration to make some improvements based on the feedback and, well, I gotta keep dinner on the table, so thanks for your patience.
SNAPSHOT IMAGES & FEATURED IMAGES
The problem is most likely that you are using a format that the resizer doesn’t understand. For best results, use JPG only for the snapshot photo in the header and the featured images on each post. For the titlebar logo you obviously need a PNG with transparency if you want it to work correctly, but I would not recommend trying PNGs anywhere else as they seem to disagree with the auto-resizer script.
@Esme: The last iteration of this theme I simply mistakenly put it in a folder called 1.0.3. It IS the 1.0.4 theme if you check the style.css. Look for a new version soon if you guys are still having trouble with some of the formatting. Apologies.
@Robin: Sorry but I really have no way of know what the problem is exactly. Most likely there is something wrong with Javascript on your server settings, but I also notice that it looks like somebody altered the footer and that has thrown off the whole template structure.

Hey Cody,
Another suggestion:
In single.php, you shouldn’t add the “Related Articles” header because the plugin takes care of that (you end up with a double header when you set the title for Related Posts in the plugin).
Here’s the line that should be removed from single.php:
Related ArticlesThanks!

13 November 2009 at 3:44 am
Ah, good eye Raam. Thanks for your suggestion, and others should keep this in mind, but the theme is designed so you can simply upload and activate the plugin without needing to configure anything. Cheers mate.

Cody – this theme is utterly lovely in looks. Thank you for sharing it.
I fully understand if you haven’t got time and resources available to provide support.
The suggested answer to the image problem above isn’t right though – it’s not simply a case that people are using wrong image types. There is something fundamentally wrong with image inserts on this theme. I can’t even get your default krabi jpg to show when I paste it in, and I’ve hardly begun using the theme.
I hope someone cracks it.

Esme, Matt, John & others:
If you’re still problems with the featured images, header snapshot & auto image resizer in the theme, please try downloading the latest version, 1.0.6, from the page here: http://www.thrillingheroics.com/ThrillingTheme
Also be sure to use JPG-format images for best results (everywhere except the logo if you use one—there a PNG with transparency is best). And you might want to clear ALL the files from the ThrillingTheme/cache/ directory. Let me know if that helps fix your issues with images.

If you experience trouble with the Twitter updates:
Version 1.0.3 included Raam Dev’s rewrite of the Twitter status call using cURL. If you still have trouble with Twitter updates, try reversing this fix found here: http://pastie.org/677368

Hi Cody, Great theme! Love it. Thanks for your generosity. Is there any way to change what the preview of a post is? Or, how do I change where the “read this article” link is?
Cheers,
backpackingmatt
[ Reply ]
14 November 2009 at 4:17 pm
@Backpacker Matt:
The front page will display your “excerpts”, meaning, look for the Excerpt module on your “Write New Post” or “Edit Post” page. If you don’t write your own excerpts, it auto-pulls like the first 200 characters or something.
To change the continue reading links on the front page, you’ll need to open index.php and do a search for
< ?php the_title(); ? rel="nofollow">" href="< ?php the_permalink() ?>">Read this article…Leave the code but you can change the “read this article” message to anything you’d like.

Cody,
I downloaded the new theme and made sure that the photo I uploaded for the header is in JPEG format. However, I continue to have the same problem. To check, I substituted your Krabi photo. Still no image showing up inside the “polaroid” frame. Another thing: Only the first 7 categories (alphabetically) show up under the header – not the categories with the most posts. With the 1.0.3 theme, all categories showed up (which was not optimal either).

I don’t know if this will help folks with the image upload problem. I was experiencing these same issues, and noticed what Michael Buckbee said in an above comment(5 November 2009). He stated that the “PHP_GD needs to be installed, and provided this link for instructions:
http://www.hui-wang.info/2009/07/gd-library-error-imagecreatetruecolor-does-not-exist/
I went to website, but still ended up having to ask my techy brother for some help. He stated that I would have to first contact my Host in order to have them install the PHP_GD file, and THEN I was able to enable it(that link had the instructions).
So I contacted Hostgator(my host), and they installed it for me. I thought I was home free, but then it still wasn’t working. I told my host what was going on, and after talking to a second rep, they basically said..oh, we see what the problem is, we have to “whitewash” something..or do something “w/security settings” for your site…Once “that” was done, the header & snap shot pics worked..!
So, I hope that helped. :->

@Veron Graham regarding image problems
Thanks for sharing this. I also contacted Hostgator and they resolved things. They said:
“There were two mod_sec rules blocking the thumb.php script. I have since whitelisted these and now images are being displayed.”
Hopefully this has fixed it for good

To update others on my post above re: header image.
Hostgator fixed the image problem with the whitelisting, but when I changed the image again I found it wouldn’t clear out of the cache and the old image remained.
I contacted them again and they said:
“It appears that the issue was caused by the thumb.php scripts cache. I’ve cleared the files from the cache/ directory and refreshed the page and now show the correct image displayed at the top of site. The cache directory that was cleared is located in wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme1.0.3/ThrillingTheme1.0.3/cache/”

Regarding the Polaroid Photo:
For those of you that don’t really care how or why there is a polaroid problem….
You can FTP to your site, and pull out the snapshot-trans.png file (Mine is here: http://www.techforthemasses.net/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme/ThrillingTheme/images/snapshot-trans.png)
Copy to desktop. Edit with Photoshop. Then basically copy whatever photo you want in there, save as png as the same name. Upload back into the orginal FTP directory. Done! Don’t forget to backup the original just in case.

I am testing this theme here http://78.137.163.70/~vikas-gupta.in/ and I want to use it permanently. Just few questions:
1. How to disable the thumbnail/image above every post; I want to make it like Esma’s blog. If you go to my temp blog url link you will find there is a permalink above the posts and it looks bad!
2. It is showing 7 categories in header bar by default. How to show more or less no. of categories (or choose which ones to show) there and why is the sub category not showing?!
3. How to add a box or some info just besides the related articles at the end of the post.
4. Your tags start just beside the bookmark and share button unlike ours which begin in a different line!!!
5. How to make these small case: “I’D LOVE TO HEAR YOURS!”
Thanks a ton.

For people having issues with the resizer that makes the post images on the main page:
Check the source of the page to see where the thumb.php script is thinking your image file is. Paste this into your browser. You may see an error message from the thumb.php file indicating that it cannot find the image at that location. This script uses the path to the file on the web server, not on your website. Because my Wordpress installation is not in /var/www/ but in /usr/share/ it was not finding the image. I revised the thumb.php script variables and now it works fine.

Hello. I’m trying to set up Your template and translate it into Russian. I’ve come across two difficulties so far:
1) How do I make a video appear in categories and in the main page? Can I theoretically set up posts in a category without “featured image” but with a video code linking to youtube or vimeo?
2) There’s “feature image” field for a post and this pic is displayed when the post appears in categories in the main page. We also got it inside the post. Can I somehow put it away while viewing the post?
Thank You for Your attention.

Hey all, still loving the theme Cody – really happy with how it has gone so far. One question I do have is whether anyone has had problems with their gravatars showing. If you look in my comments section here:

then you’ll see what I mean – I don’t know whether the other commenters have gravatars set up, but I do for myself and it still won’t show. It shows up fine in the comments section on my dashboard, just not on the post itself.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help!

The next time you update this template I would suggest letting your Flickr plugin to allow group ids. This way when other people that attend my events they can just add them to the group and they will be shared with the site.
Just my 2 cents, this is a great template and the price is great as well.

In order to give you the ability to change the photo in the top navigation (shown as a background image with another PNG border hovering OVER it) it breaks W3C. In this humble developer’s opinion, W3C validation is meaningless as long as you have a cool-looking site that renders properly in all major browsers.

By default header.php proposes :

So default place is website root, but you can modify header.php to fulfill your needs

@Jen, sorry you had such trouble sorting out the problem with your images. Here’s some more detailed info for anyone still having problems with the thumbnail script:
If you are on HostGator
If you are on HostGator, all you have to do is contact them by going to: http://www.hostgator.com/
Click where it says: ‘Click here. Live Chat’ on the upper-right corner of the web-page and tell the followings:
add following rules [ 1234234,340151 ] to mod_security for http://www.yourwebsite.com
Please whitelist for the domain
That is all you have to do. Wait a couple of minutes and you’ll probably see the images on the front page of your web-site.
Cache Folder
One of the most common errors is that the cache/ folder does not have write permissions. If your error message is something along the lines of “Permission denied…” and you can see it referencing you /cache folder, then you probably have not set write permissions to it.
To do this, you will need to “CHMOD” the folder in your FTP client to 777 (or 755 or full write permissions). Check out this tutorial on how to do that. The folder you will need to change the permissions is “/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme/cache”. This is the folder where the thumbnail generator stores cached images.
PHP GD Library
The thumb.php script uses PHP GD Library to resize the images, which is usually included with PHP and should be installed on your web host. Some small web hosts haven’t done this and you will then get a error like “GD Library Error: imagecreatetruecolor does not exist”. You should ask your web host to activate PHP GD or find a better hosting provider, since this should be included and is not a hassle to setup for them.
There are also some older versions of PHP that will give an error like “gd-png: fatal libpng error: zlib error”. This should also be fixed by your host by upgrading to a newer version. This usually only happens with PNG images, so you can try to upload your images in JPEG format instead.

Well the second example there will simply show your images without resizing them. What you’ve cut out is the resizer script itself.
Again, try using JPG images.
31 December 2009 at 2:10 pm
Hey Cody
No worries, I’ve learnt alot & I managed to get it sorted yesterday. I did all the things mentioned in the comments but the final tweak that got the photo appearing was realising that the filepath for the snapshot photo was not matching path on the ftp server:
http://reachourdreams.com/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme/ThrillingTheme/images/krabi.jpg
the original one I was using had /thrilling heroics/ where the first ThrillingTheme is. As soon as I changed that, the picture appeared.
Thanks again Cody

@Darrin
I use a lot of plug ins, my activated list is :
Advertising Manager Version 3.4.10
Akismet Version 2.2.7
All in One SEO Pack Version 1.6.10
Clean Archives Reloaded Version 3.1.10
Contact Form 7 Version 2.0.7
Cute Profiles Version 1.0.1
CycloPress Version 1.5.0
Easy Review Builder Version 0.1
FeedBurner FeedSmith Version 2.3.1
flickr-slideshow-wrapper Version 4.7.9
WP FollowMe Version 2.0.4
Google Analytics for WordPress Version 3.2.5
Google News XML Sitemap Version 1.0.2
rpx Version 0.2.4
Simple Tags Version 1.7b1
Sociable Version 3.5.2
Twitter Tools Version 2.0
Twitter Tools – Bit.ly URLs Version 2.0
Wordbooker Version 1.2
WordPress.com Stats Version 1.6
WordPress Beta Tester Version 0.81
WP Geo Version 3.1.2
WP SimpleMail Version 0.6.2
WP Super Cache Version 0.9.8
On the top of that i use some personnal functions added in the function.php file
The only solution (I know it’s a PITA) is :
1- to write (or screen shot) the settings of all plug ins
2- deactivate all plug ins
3- see if everything works (if it’s not the case there is a problem with your theme)
4- one by one activate the plug ins until the admin breaks
But before that, classical medecine applies, emply your cache so see if what you’re seeing is not a basic cache problem

Thank you for this theme! I am using it for my blog and I just love it!
I am using:
CommentLuv 2.7.64
Subscribe to Comments 2.1.2
Comment Reply Notification 1.3 (which is a great plugin similar to Subscribe to Comments, except it only notifies people when someone replies directly to their comment).
Anyway, in my comments form, StC appears above the “Submit” button, and CommLuv and CRN appear below the “Submit” button. Ideally, I’d like to put them all above, but as long as they end up on the same side (they appear on the same side in most other themes I’ve tried). If I understood what cue they were taking from the theme for where to display, I could probably figure out how to move them. Any suggestions on how to go about that?
Maybe someone in the community can point me in the right direction. Even helping me figure out where to go look it up would be an awesome help!

Cody (or anyone who can help),
I love the theme… having one challenge… can’t get category archive to work properly. When I click on the link to view all posts in a category, it only shows one and only the title and little comments bubble… no other text and none of the other posts in that category. I have tried editing the archive.php file, but can’t seem to get it working. Can you help?

I need some help with a few tweaks, one of them being the Twitter feed (suggestions posted here didn’t completely work). I’m willing to pay someone for the consulting. Can anyone help?

This is a truly awesome theme. I have a question. The two sites that Cody points to as custom installations of this theme, Business Backpacker and In Search of Sanuk, both have graphic backgrounds behind the main content areas. I’ve looked through the theme’s files and the pages’ sources as interpreted by the browser but, being a newbie to css and javascript and all that, I can’t see an obvious way to add such a background image to my own site. Can someone tell me how to do this or point me to the appropriate resource? Thanks.
Thanks, Cody, for making such a great theme available.

@Matt – to create a custom background, Cody is referencing an additional stylesheet within the header.php file that links to background images. You can take a look at one of these stylesheets here – hope this helps!: http://www.businessbackpacker.com/wp-content/themes/ThrillingTheme/styles/12-grungerust.css

I can’t seem to change any of the colors in the css stylesheet. I would like the links to be red instead of the blue. I have tried changing the colors in the code but nothing works. In other words, how can I change the color of the links?

Hi there,
I see there are already a few questions about the twitter integration. For me it only works in th einternet explorer not in Google Chrome or Firefox. I use the twitter for wordpress plugin now and it seems to be fixed. However the twitter updates are now displayed twice in IE and once in Chrome or Firefox.
What bit of code do I have to remove from the sidebar.php to display only the updates with the twitter for wordpress plugin?
Thank in advance!

Bug: Setting a static page as the home page makes the main nav hyperlinks a bit wacky. Eg on my blog page: http://www.firstbyte.co.nz/website-design-articles/ both that link AND the home page are highlighted. And when on the home page, the hyperlink for “home” does not indicate that I am indeed on the home page.

My host (hostgator) just went in and fixed the polaroid photo for me…She said:
I just had to whitelist some rules that were getting hit by our mod_security.
So, if you have issues, just ask your host to fix it.

First off, thanks to Cody for creating a really great, easily customizable theme. It’s been really fun to play around with, and each and every site I see that uses the theme is doing so in a really unique way. Now… on to my question that hopefully someone can help me out with!
For some reason, the “post box” in the sidebar refuses to show posts in the Featured category – but only on the homepage of the blog. On every other page of the blog, the Featured posts are listed without a problem. I’ve been banging my head against a wall trying to troubleshoot this issue, but alas no luck. Anyone have a quick fix for this?

I have a problem with the tabbed sidebard widget
Have a look here : velofun.fr
Out of the box, the widget has 4 tabs
I need only three so I deleted in sidebar.php the fourth.
With Firefox everything displays fine
But with Google Chrome and Apple Safari the tabs are not displayed.
I saw other sites with similar settings (one tab less) and without this problem.
Where did I fail?
Thanks in advance
Luc

Anyone having problems with this theme:
Sorry, but other than actual theme bugs, I don’t have time to answer people’s individual wants & customization requests here.

I recently changed my perma-link structure for my categories, from the default http://blog.com/category/categoryname to http://blog.com/categoryname
but right now i have 404 errors http://blog.com/categoryname/feed
with the previous structure it is an error http://blog.com/category/categoryname/feed
Anyone know how to resolve this issue. Running on Wordpress 2.9.1, didnt work on the previous version too.
Plus the pagination doesnt work now in the categories. Goin to page 2 sends the page to 404 error page. Has anyone come across these issues?
